Introducing MyDirectives: Our New Company Name for a Brighter Future in Advance Care Planning

In the realm of healthcare, few things are as crucial as ensuring your wishes are known and honored, especially in times of medical crisis. Since 2007, our company has been focused on a clear mission: to make advance care planning (ACP) simple, and to make a person’s ACP documents accessible by those who need access. To better represent our company and our vision, we have changed our company name to MyDirectives.

Founded as ADVault, our mission was clear: to provide individuals with better access to advance directives. Our name, a fusion of "advance directives" and "vault," symbolized our commitment to safeguarding these vital documents in a secure and easily accessible manner. However, as our solutions and market presence have expanded, we recognized the need for a name that better encapsulates our vision, mission, and values.

Enter MyDirectives. Our new identity reflects not only the evolution of our company but also the essence of what we stand for. At MyDirectives, we are dedicated to empowering individuals to ensure their voices are heard precisely when it matters most. Our free, award-winning, consumer-facing app MyDirectives – first launched in 2012 – has been widely used across the United States by individuals aged 18 to 102 to record, store, and share their goals, preferences, and priorities for their care.

New Corporate Website and Web Application

As part of our rebranding efforts, we have recently relaunched our corporate website to better align with our strategic direction and objectives. We’ve changed our web address from www.advaultinc.com to www.mydirectives.com and designed a brand new website that better represents and describes our solutions and capabilities. We’re very excited about the new, fresh look and content.

But we didn’t stop there. We’re also excited to unveil an updated version of our consumer-facing web application MyDirectives, which is available at https://app.mydirectives.com. Featuring a fresh, intuitive design, our web app now offers a more streamlined ACP experience. We've enhanced the advance care planning Q&A fields to better address contemporary medical needs and conditions. Plus, completing your plan is now simpler than ever, with the added convenience of remote witness inclusion. Once finished, you'll receive an ACP document with a refreshed, updated format. The MyDirectives web application is optimized for mobile devices and tablets, so it works great on any device with any Internet browser. For those individuals who already have an ACP document such as a living will or a medical power of attorney, or a portable medical order form such as a POLST, our updated MyDirectives also makes the upload and sharing of those documents easier than ever.

Five Wishes Partnership

Along with these exciting changes, we're thrilled about our partnership with Five Wishes, the gold standard in advance care planning for almost 30 years. Their Five Wishes Digital solution has now transitioned to the MyDirectives platform, offering their customers a simple way to complete the Five Wishes document online. Like all ACP documents created or uploaded using MyDirectives, Five Wishes Digital documents are stored in the A|D Vault Exchange™, the ONLY interoperable, cloud-based storage for ACP documents and portable medical order forms that is HITRUST Risk-Based 2-year Certified.
